easter eggs!

i realize now that dyeing easter eggs is much more than a yearly event. it is watching your children grow, seeing how differently the kids dye their eggs from year to year and how some things never change. it is a reunion of friends and family and a day to remember those no longer here. every time you get to watch a baby do something for the first time is amazing. this year we had 2 new babies and lots of seasoned veterens. it was great. ben was so amused that he was actually allowed to put the egg and his whole hand into the dye.
after the eggs get dyed its time to hang out and catch up. this is just as much fun and the weather was great which allowed for some much loved hammock time...
...and the kids have learned how to climb the tree this year.
the kids and i love the symbolism of the egg - of new life emerging, the start of new things...great things.
