struggling with creativity

sean, like many 7 year olds, gets bored. he struggles with self play and like myself, hates being alone. today we tried to inspire him to find his creative self. with clay. it was hard. just 1 lump of clay, a bowl of water and his imagination to fuel an artistic creation. he almost gave up. in a world of video games and t.v. and rock band , i decided to turn it all off and show sean that his hands and brain are just as cool. lila jumped right in and became lost in this world right away. sean just pounded the clay and said it was stupid. he thought he couldn't make anything cool. he asked for some tools. i told him his hands were the only tools he needed. i placed my hands on his and we started working the clay together. he began to relax. as he saw it take shape he even smiled. it was great. if he didn't like the shape it was taking he would flatten it and star over, he stuck with it.

in the end they made some really interesting pieces and enjoyed themselves. they felt proud to have actually created something. sean's favorite artistic medium of present is photography and video making. his goal is to have a huge fan base on you tube. he has made what seems like hundreds of videos all pretty much doing the same thing. he is striving for perfection. here are some of his most current photos which he took upside down and laughed for a bout an hour afterward..

here's what lila think is interesting to photograph...no comment :)
